Located in South West Queensland near the township of Goondiwindi, Gunsynd Solar Farm will generate up to 94 MW of electricity and up to 100 MW of battery storage that will supply the full township of Goondiwindi and inject into the QLD/NSW electricity grid via the Powerlink Bulli Creek 330/132 kV Substation.
The site received Development Approval in early 2019 after a very co-ordinated and well thought out process with the landowner and local councils.
In November 2022, the project received approval from AEMO and Ergon Energy to connect to the Bulli Creek to Waggamba 132 kV transmission line, and the connection agreement was executed in December 2022.
With the completion of the development approval, PPA, and connection agreement, SkyLab satisfied its obligations under a sale agreement to Metis Energy and ownership transferred.
The Gunsynd Project is a credit to the SkyLab Australia team, and has demonstrated that local industry knowledge with key professionals ensures a great outcome for landowners, community, stakeholders and investors.
