Punch's Creek Stage 1

Punch’s Creek Renewable Energy is a renewable energy project consisting of two stages with capacity of up to 800MW/1GWp Solar farm site with 3200MWh battery storage located in the heart of the South West Queensland Renewable Energy Zone.

The Stage 1 Project consists of ~480MWp PV & 400MW/1600MWh DC coupled connection into a new 330/33kV Substation.

With direct access to the Powerlink Transmission Network, this site provides the ultimate balance between connection and opportunity.

The site is located on prime land with a 30 year + lease option and has already obtained significant support from the local community.

The project received full development approval in Q1 2024, and EPBC approval in May 2024, CHMP executed in 2024 and executed Connection & Access Agreement with Powerlink in December 2024.

The project will connect to the Powerlink 330kV transmission line via a new substation and line that traverses the site.

In August 2025, the project was sold to EDPR a very experienced asset owner internationally as their flagship asset in the every growing Australian Renewable Environment.

Punch’s Creek Renewable Energy is proposing to commence construction in Q1 2026 and have commercial operation by Q3 2028 for stage 1.
