Punch's Creek Stage 2

Punch’s Creek Renewable Energy is a proposed renewable energy project consisting of two stages with capacity of up to 800MW/1GWp Solar farm site with 800MWh battery storage located in the heart of the South West Queensland Renewable Energy Zone. Stage 2 being 400MW/420MWp/400MW 1600MWh BESS

With direct access to the Powerlink Transmission Network, this site provides the ultimate balance between connection and opportunity.

The site is located on prime land with a 30 year + lease option and has already obtained significant support from the local community.

The project received full development approval in Q1 2024, and EPBC approval in Q2 2024.

The stage 2 part of the project will connect to the Powerlink 330kV transmission line via a new 400MW connection into the existing substation and line that traverses the site. The project is on track to execute an early works agreement with Powerlink in 2026, with a Q4 2028 connection.

Skykab Australia is currently moving through the GPS stage after submitting the connection application in Q4 2025.

Punch’s Creek Renewable Energy is proposing to commence construction in Q2 2027 of the substation connection and have commercial operation by Q1 2029 for stage 2.
